Brussel 2007

Acrobat PDF-bestandTwo-day EVENT IN BRUSSELS:

When nearly a year ago a small group of ELA members thought it was time to raise the profile of the organisation, it was decided that we should organise a conference in Brussels. Klaas Johan Osinga initiated the idea at the European Parliament and found Thijs Berman (Dutch MEP) interested in cooperating, because the EP would be asked for advice on the new EU Strategy for Animal Health (see more below). Other MEPs were interested as well, Jan Mulder, Neil Parish, Elisabeth Jeggle and Lily Jacobs, who succeeded Thijs Berman.
Together with COPA-COGECA (European Farmers’ umbrella of which KJ is a member as well) the idea was turned into a prestigious conference with interpreters’ facilities (English, French and German) for 120 participants from 10 different countries. As said, the main topic was the new Animal Health Strategy presented in September 2007 by the Commission.
